Man you have a VS coming and a Buckaroo!!

Well, the Major and I talked about two hats. One silverbelly similar to the ones RBH and the Major have and a black full beaver like the one with that gray pinstripe ribbon. I probably should get one, but there's just too much candy in this store and I want it all.  lol lol lol

That black hat really has caught my eye. I never thought I'd want a black hat, but that one with the gray ribbon has my mouth watering. We talked about binding the brim too which will make it even more mouth watering, I think.

What do you guys think. Should we bind the brim in black to match the hat or light gray to match the ribbon? I was thinking black, but then the thought occurred to me that it might look pretty cool with gray binding. [huh]

Bob, I have learned this over the years, "It's better to ask for forgiveness, than to ask for permission"

I use that all the time with my wife, and it works for me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yea, a VS and two Buckaroos, and my wife hasn't exploded yet.

How did you manage thatlol lol lol Actually my wife greenlighted my second work of Art the other day. It is the only time she happily agreed with a hat purchase. Art said my first hat from him would change her view on hats. I guess he was right about that:eusa_clap

I really like color variation, but I think on that one I'd go with a black binding or perhaps a dark grey somewhere between the black of the hat and the silver of the ribbon[huh]

Point taken, Major. lol lol lol

Truthfully though, I give my wife a bad time, but she's really a sweetheart, and she knows I like hats. She wouldn't say anything because she knows they are a pleasure for me.

I'm pretty much with you, Bart. I think the gray binding would probably be too much. I'm so taken with that hat...I wouldn't want to overwhelm it. I think the black is the ticket.

Just imagine how bad it is when you are standing in his shop seeing all those hats, I wonder if I could of got to the end of the driveway with one of those racks before he caught me? lol

I wish you could have seen that hat in person, I only got to see the body and it was amazing. I know black hats are hard to show in pictures but that thing was SOO smooth. The ribbon I saw in his shop before he ever put it on the hat and it was very classy, Dee liked it even more than I did! I also think that black hat would make a very cool bound brim, thin ribbon, Open Road clone too!

Bob you need to ask Mike for a felt sample of the Butternut color, you can see a western in it in one of his shop pics. I think that color wouyld also make a nice fedora.:)

Just get the black to match his and then get another black one with a bound brim like an open road so I can see if i want one that way too!lol ;)

Two black hats? That would be pretty cool. A more formal one bound in black and a OR or stratoliner clone with the light ribbon and light binding. You're killin' me, man. I'm weak ya know!:eusa_doh:

IC, we'll be waiting for the pictures after Christmas.

Mike told me how he enjoyed giving your girls those hats he gave them. His pleasure was in making your daughters happy. I really enjoyed chatting with him on the phone. He's really a nice guy.

I'm going to call him back next week and get those hats ordered.

You won't have to wait til Christmas to see Dee's new custom he made. He said it's going out this week, I have seen a picture and although it's not going on my head I can't wait to see it!:D

Mike told me he had Dee's hat ready to send. I'm amazed at how quick he is, but he told me he could easily to go his shop at 7PM and not notice the time again until it's 3AM. His love of hats and making hats was very obvious from our conversation.
