A couple had to be aged a little and he was made to wear one hat a month before shooting all day and wear it hard to give it a worn look, he did good on that, as I know this photo is the hat he was to do that with.

He was told to live in it from the time we handed it to him until shooting finished, he jogs 7 miles day, so I am pretty sure he had the hat on during those 7 mile jogs.

No...this was made with a 3 cord western ribbon that was tied. This was what the lady with wardrobe and the director wanted.
I believe they liked the way it photographed. It does have a bound edge.

I like the way it looked...and it did photograph well from what I saw of the picture. I have that ribbon too.
