Brooks Cafe Racer Leather Question

Generally you need to know your ideal measurements and go from there. I don't think an inch more in the chest is a problem but this is down to personal taste. Only you know what works

I wear a 46 and 42 is my normal size. But it is a little roomy - as I prefer them to be. I like to wear a 22.5 inch chest but am OK with an extra inch. I am also tall so it may not show as readily.

I suspect if you are a 40, going on 42 a 44 will fit better. I had a 44 if fit pretty well but I didn't dig the fitted look.

Gold labels are pre 1980.
Thanks for your reply Seb.

Your post helped me decide to hold off, there was more than a little frustration that I couldn't get a jacket with the right measurements. I'll keep on trucking.

I just got this.

My son lives in London and bought it a month ago from fl-member robninay via Ebay.uk and send the jacket to me here in Finland. This really feels like new. Maybe new old stock or something. It is very light compared to my Schott 530 but the leather feels quite thick. Not as thick and juicy as schotts leather though. All the elements cafe racer jacket should have. I wonder what year is this jacket from. It doesn't have a removable fur lining or even a zipper for that.

Red and black label are mid/late 70's until late 80's.

I have been wearing this. However, may I ask if my Brooks (black white and red) label is for men or women? Much appreciated any input.

It's a guy's jacket I had a lighter brown one. Several companies in the 1970's appear to have made variations of that pattern.

It fits me great, however, I never felt confident wearing it because I thought it was made for women. Thank you!
