Brooks Brothers Waistcoat Date?

Greetings, all!
I've been a reader of this forum for years, but this is my first post. I am fairly clueless when it comes to menswear, in general, so please be gentle. I recently came into possession of this beautiful waistcoat, and I would greatly appreciate your insights on its age.

It is a formal waistcoat for under a tuxedo jacket. Starting in the 20’s men’s’ apparel manufacturers started cutting costs by making formal waistcoats that had no back and merely attached with a strap at the waist and the neck that “latched” behind the back.

A black dinner jacket, black full vest-type waistcoat, and black bow tie became the standard during the Edwardian period from 1901 - 1910. I would hazard a guess that it is from the early, early 20th century. This was to be paired with either a black Homburg, Bowler, or Straw Boater with a black ribbon for the summer.

And, for the love of all that is sacred, only wear a bow tie with formal wear, not a long tie as you see the Hollywood / Music types doing!!!

Is it possible to establish the date of manufacture of Brooks Bros. clothing, esp. blazers, odd jackets, etc. by the label affixed to the interior chest pocket of the item, please? See labels of the garments for which estimated dates of manufacture are sought in the public area of my AskAndy profile. Thanks, all.

Yes, this is one of my pet peeves, a long tie worn with formal wear. In Nashville we have hundreds of the music people doing this.

It could be they don't want to go to the trouble of tying a bow tie, but I think it is more that they consider themselves creative types and don't want to acquiesce to the norms of society.
