Hello everyone. I've been waiting impatiently for this auction to win so I could show you all this suit. Marc Chevalier was actually the one to bring it to my attention in a PM the other day (Thanks Marc!!). Well, here it is.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=8397699155&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&rd=1

The price ended up getting a little hefty, but it's worth it. That's a darn sharp suit if I do say so myself. I'm not sure if I'll get the tie or not, I asked for some better pics of it. This will my first real actual vintage suit (not counting my old Pierre Cardin three piece, which is more "dated" than "vintage"). I'm very pleased about it, and I can't wait to try it on. It's my first blue suit too!

Thanks again, Marc!

i nearly bid on that myself but it's too similar to one i recently won to justify it. also, the leg is about an inch too short for me and i hate having to let a good turn up down. enjoy it.

I think this one should fit me just right, if not, I can always have it tailored a bit. It strikes me that maybe this thread should go in the Display Case? If so, my feelings won't be hurt if it gets moved. :)

Yeah, I spent more than I figured I would.. but compare that to a new Men's Wearhouse suit for $300 or $400, this is a much nicer suit. Honestly it got past me too, I wouldn't have spotted it if Marc hadn't of told me about it.

Congratulations, Mr_Misanthropy! You got that suit at a good price. It has so much going for it: single-breasted w/peak lapels and pinstripes and its original waistcoat. All together, that adds up to a very desirable vintage suit. On eBay.com (the U.S. eBay), it would have probably fetched $175 or more.
