You have got to be the coolest mother ever. And your son will be an effortless dresser by the time he NEEDS to wear suits. Good job. :eusa_clap

Absolutely no disrespect to Elaina (who hopefully knows I hold her in the highest esteem) but the one does not guarantee the other. I made almost all of my children's clothes up until they were in their early teens (they had everything from tailored clothes to the most up to date fashion fads) - it did no good at all! My daughter dresses like a fashion victim instead of a young lady of style and my sons wear skate kid garb. None of them have an ounce of sense regarding looking good or smart...at least they don't seem to give a fig for it! Kids! [huh]

That's unfortunate...

I had a stage where I dressed like a skater. It's not flattering at all. A lot of women's fashion these days is pretty bad, from the pocketless jeans to sweaters that only keep 1/4th of your torso warm... yeesh. I guess our grandkids will look back at these days and sigh over the ads and fashion like we are the stuff of the '30s-'60s. lol

Now, I won't say I just dress in vintage stuff, or even just suits all the time. I, like anyone need my everyday essentials of soft jeans and hoodies. But I'd say the majority of young people my age don't have much sense. I see them dressed in polyester sweats all the time on my campus. Even most of our teachers can't dress their way out of a brunch! I guess if I could afford it, I'd mix in cardigans, cuffed flat front trousers, and the good ol' button down collar shirt with a narrow tie here and there. Kinda like Mr. McGregor here. I've been a huge fan of Ivy League style for some time now, which some clothing boards dull down (or just plain mutilate) and erroneously call "trad."
