Tina asked me if the supermarket was still open, Our Sunday trading laws means that they can only open from ten until four on a Sunday. "They are closing in half an hour," I told her, "can you do me a favour and dash there to see if they have any of those storage boxes that were being promoted a while back." She asked, smiling sweetly. Off I go. Result! They have three left and I can have them for a knock down price. This should put me in her good books.

Back at the car park a voice said: "Oh my just look at your trousers." I turned and saw a very well dressed lady, in similar baggy trousers to the ones that I was wearing. "Oh my yourself," I replied, adding "someone has standards." She was busy clicking away on her phone, so I had to reciprocate. Do tell me if you see me pop up somewhere.

I spent a long, long time searching for some good quality wide trousers....or Oxford bags.

Saw quite a few on-line, even ordered one or two pairs however, the finishing quality was not so good so they got returned for refunds.

Then I stumbled across this company http://www.chestercordite.com/

Ordered a pair of the Thornhill trousers and they're superb. Great fit and a heavy wool, ended up with 3 pairs! It can be frustrating at times waiting for their stock to arrive but, worth the wait.

Once the shops open again I'll visit a local tailor so he can copy

Chester Cordite shirts are very good too, I can well recommend them. Have you seen any of Some Like It Holy's Oxford Bags? I do like the finish on the high waist, very tempting. My own baggies are all bespoke, crafted by my wife, eight pairs to date with another in the pipeline.

Funnily enough, ladies mainstream fashion is very varied and welcoming of lots of different cuts-whereas men who do something a bit different are fringe!

Bravo! A nice story and fine trousers all around.
Thank you Tom, a kind compliment, much appreciated.

Indeed you are right, you only have to look at the "features" page in any of our newspapers and your point is clarified. Good to see you posting again.

More expensive than the Cordite entry but you can get pretty full cut "Hollywood Top" trousers from Edward Sexton in the UK.
Edward Sexton certainly is a class tailor, but with so many high profile clients it gives the company kudos, that translates to prices higher than value, in my opinion, of course. As they say: "You pay your money, you take your choice." http://www.threadneedlemantailors.co.uk/

Many men doe somehow fear standing out - hence whereas to a lady it's an affront to turn up at a black tie event wearing the same dress as someone else.....

Yes, I think it was June, 2019 when he last posted.
The current presentation of The Lounge, with it's intrusive adverts, makes me empathise with Matt's disappearance. But the addiction that is The Lounge, of which you are more than culpable with your model railway postings, make leaving akin to going cold turkey.
I shall suffer the intrusion of the adverts.

The Powers That Be have made the adverts much less intrusive than they were when we first switched to a new advertising partner. I don't much notice them anymore.

My ". . . model railway postings . . . ." I have no idea what you are talking about.

Greta vets to go with the strides GHT. Tina is a treasure!
The lady has an eye for detail Benny. These maroon trousers contrast or match really well, they are also a fine example of the point so well articulated about a portly outline. There's no hiding my belly, but the trousers fit well and do a good job of disguise, or at least I like to think so.
As for the detail, Tina made the shirt and she dyed the tee shirt.
