Pardon me. I now see that my faulty grammar left ambiguity in the sentence as to comparisons.

Fortunately, I have lived long enough and observed things long enough to be able to discern and recognize great quality of workmanship and materials across a broad spectrum of disciplines.

From the photos I have seen and the first hand accounts here at TFL, I am sure I will be favorably impressed with the work of some of the other makers when I am able to see them in person.

Peace be with you.
SORRY Bern1, it probably was a cheap shot on my part..........no hard feelings. You are definitely not the man I want to go against in the grammer dept!! And i'm sure your LW's jacket is beautiful and of great quality........Again please accept my apology...

The quality and workmanship is the best I have ever seen in leather. I have not seen any aero or other top notch maker's work in person though, but it sounds like they are excellent as well. I have my eye on a particular Aero, but sizing has me concerned there too.
If that is your concern, then go through Insurrection Leather in Seattle. Wade and Carrie know their business and will send out a fit jacket. Their service doesn't add to the cost of the Aero jacket. I have used them twice with good results.

Thanks Peacoat, I've been in touch with Carrie regarding a proposed Teamster. Also had a lot of great advice from other people with that jacket on this forum. Then these two LW jackets came up.......I still plan to have an Aero Teamster by next fall.

I had no idea I would "need" so many leather jackets!

Thanks Treeman but no worries at all. It's all good, I've been in some tough rooms but everybody here is at a cool level.

A really weird thing happened to my LW jackets. Two weeks ago a sleeve zip fastener of my Suburban broke apart. It was a NOS Crown zipper. LW sent me out a replacement which I haven't received yet. And today the same thing happened to my B2. I contacted LW, they proposed to send all four zippers of a size up but which fit the sewn zippers. I think the small zip fasteners can't work properly with 4 oz leather. Since I'm in Moscow it's unreasonable to send the jackets to the USA, pay the shipping cost back and forth. There're a lot of repair services here who assured me they could replace zip fasteners. It will require some unstitching and stitching again to install the new zip fastenners when they've arrived. Is anybody experienced with such repair? Is it ok to do that locally without sending the jackets to the vendor?

I've had some alterations done locally here in Sydney. I'd recommend finding someone that specialises in motorcycle leather repairs, they will be used to working with heavy leather and this will be an easy job for them.

Thanks, I think so too. The guys I found specialise in such kind of repair. At least they assured me they work with thick leather as well.

Mate, may I ask, where you get your alteration work done in Sydney and which jackets have you had altered.

Go see Irene at Oz Motorcycle Leathers, she has been great so far.

Suite 5, 84-86 Mary Street,
Surry Hills, NSW 2026

Only a 5 minute walk from Central Station.

She has done a few jobs for me now. Trimmed the waist on a FQHH Sheene and shortened my DD Buco J-100. I'm thinking of talking in an Aero Cafe Racer to have the sleeve slightly shortened.

She did a much better job than the other option in the area Venus Leathers. I'd never go back there after they botched a stitching job on a jacket with contrast stitching.

Hi,

Been a member on here for a long time but only for admiring other peoples jackets etc but now I need your guy's help. I have several Aero jackets but I am about to order a LW Speed Demon. LW's has recommended a size 44... I have a Aero Cossack premiere in a 44 and it fits perfect so hoping to replicate the size with the LW one.

I was wandering if anyone has experience with this jacket? My Cossack has a shoulder measurement of approx. 19" and pit 2 pit of 23".

Thanks for any help!
