Here is one of our tall crown William Powell style fedoras. 6" crown, vintage grosgrain ribbon, a great classic that goes with everything.

Just visited the Brass Rooster and picked up a beautiful custom. (2 1/8 brim, 4" crown) John's a great guy. Showed me around a bit and let me snap a few picks of him adjusting my new hat for a wonderfully perfect fit (7 3/8 round to a long oval). Here's some pics...

Hello friends.

I haven't posted for awhile, but I just had to give some love to the people at Brass Rooster Hat Co. in Milwaukee, WI.

I asked a lot of questions and learned a lot from the answers. John was terrific and did an awesome job shaping the 2 Akubras I brought him. This is definitely a place that I'll go back to.

If you've never been there, the atmosphere is just awesome and he has a wonderful selection of lids.

You can patronize this amazing business with confidence!

I recently bought this Brass Rooster on eBay. I've never owned one and figured I could at least compare it to my other custom fedoras. I was concerned since the seller didn't know the size. It turned out to be a 7 1/8 which is good for me. But the color looks to be bone which I already have. Therefore I have it listed in the classifieds. I would say the felt on this is comparable to Black Sheep or Penman. At least that is how it feels to me.

I just bought this one from Bill @Bill Hughes Thank you, Bill.

I was expecting something very nice, but average, probably on the stiff side. Not so, however. This Brass Rooster is amazingly soft and has a very smooth finish. For comparison, and I hate to say it, but this one is on par with Gannon's current vintage felt feel (my term). I am very pleased with the fit and finish. This is one of those very lightweight and "crushable" sort of hats many of us look for and I know it will be in my permanent collection for, well, permanently!

I'll post a few head shots in the coming days.

Thanks again, Bill. I have a new repect for Brass Rooster hats.
