Borsalinos with Celled Paper Labels

I have checked a few other than the celled hats to see how this holds up. Quite well actually. I looked at some Gulaela models (I've had several of these). The numbers were:
10K02 (dattero colour)
10K06 (amiata colour)
10K07 (nero colour: three different ones of those, all with the same number).
Looks promising, but let's not get ahead of ourselves; it's Borsalino after all, so nothing's certain.

Not to muddy the waters but are you referring to non-celled labels? If so, I've found several examples of Ludoela models with numbers 31 or 31P. Also, my Gulaita lobbia, which I believe is akin to the Gulaela has the number 10L45 (rutenio color).

I am referring to the non-celled labels, yes. And I have been looking into the Ludoela models as well, with the same findings. I'm looking at all the pictures again and making notes of the codes. There seem to be some inconsistencies there, but there's certainly reason to dig deeper into this. The best bet are the models we find a larger number of, like the Ludoela, the Gorasgu or the Ta/Ludora.

Stefan, For the Celled Paper Labels these two similar Echter Borsalinos are from the same time period + source and share the same "Modello/Model" numbers. The only variances are the upper far right Cell number and Sizes.

Echter Borsalino "Bismuto" "Sanboca", French Size Point 6 1/2, date stamped May 17, 1929, German Market.

Echter Borsalino Qualità Superiore "Bismuto" "Sanboca", French Size Point 5 1/2, German Market.

Here are two "Giorgette" Stiff Felts but they have different "Modello/Model" numbers. It's possible "Giorgette" is a broader mode type / style or the Modello/Model numbers changed over time / market (or both). It's really hard to know without catalogs or some other official written reference. I am fairly certain at least for the Celled Paper Labels the upper far left cell is the "Modello/Model" number (but no current way to reference the numbers).

A variant of the celled paper label without the Borsalino name and Grand Prix Paris 1900 on the left. Also interesting is the low number 775. Any guesses on the writing?

Very cool, Tonio. Finally a new/different one. It only adds more questions to the pile, but nevertheless. I am inclined to think this is the earliest form we know.

Tonio, Thanks for the taking the photos. I always wondered about this one. Same format but as mentioned missing the Borsalino and Grand Prix 1900 on the left side. Definitely could be the oldest example. There is printed info on the sweatband but I can't make it out.

This is great. Does the crown label "Giuseppe e. Fratello" call out an era before the battle of the cousins? c.1900?? I don't remember seeing it before but haven't checked the many pages here.

Borsalino use this badge time to time, even in recent years. They are the best to start the "muddy waters"

This is Type 3 and the only example so far. The main Cells are not offset and no Borsalino Grand Prix Paris 1900 on the left side. This is probably the oldest Cell Paper Label (so the oldest of any kind) found so far. Thank you Tonio for taking the photos.

Wonderful find, Steve. It's anyone's guess as to the model name, but Rizzo is one we know of at least. The other rizzo that's documented had the code numbers 10023 and 8842.

Stefan, Thanks! This one was a gift from Manfred back in 2016. I just forgot to update here. I need to also put on the Borsalino thread because his photos are now missing. I made a wild guess (? "zo") based on the faint 2 letter remnants on the paper label.
