I snagged two. one last night, one this morning.

This first one was sold at Brodt's, a washington DC hatter, from which I already have a '30's borsalino and a benchmade homburg. I guess they were a big borsalino dealer. I think that they went out of business some time in the '40s, so I'm hopeful.
I also get the womens hats. Oh well.

Borsalino

I tried one on yesterday!!! First time ever. Tres cool. It was at Bencraft Hatters (support our advertisers!) It was a big old Alessandria. I felt as if I needed a Tommy gun to go with it. Wound up buying a Stetson "Vintage". Me very happy.

Any guess as to a date on the velour one? '60's? '70's?
the other one I can't tell anything about until I get it.

yeah- It's not exactly my normal thing, but I'm only going to know how it looks if I try. and it doesn't appear too terribly stingy.

I have a couple of velour finish Borsalinos. I think both of mine are a little earlier than yours. They have an extremely soft hand. They are the only Borsalinos I have and the only vintage ones I have handled so it is hard to compare to other finishes of their era.

okay, the homburg came today.
It's not as old as I thought it would be; I guess Brodt's stayed in business a tad longer than I could find records of.

The hat is very soft.
