Borsalino hat help!

Looked through all three pages of that thread and didn't see how those permanently attached buttons make for functional wind strings.

I know this was talked about before somewhere, but for the life of me I can't find it.
On a normal wind string, there are two ends of the string, the button end and the end sewn to the hat.
On the other kind, the end sewn to the hat is the button, the other end has a loop which fits over the button, securing it when not in use. To use it, you take the loop off the button, and loop it around a button on your shirt or jacket.
