Bone Colored Borsalino

Borsalino used to make fantastic hats...Used to!

I agree wholeheartedly. The felt is just not the same. The workmanship is also not the same. That is why I draw the line at Borsalinos made after the mid seventies. It keeps my searches simple. :D

Regards to all,

I have a silvermist "Manhattan" fedora that Art made for me; it is a wonderful hat, the lightest gray I have found. The band is not dark, however, it is a light pewter color. Makes the hat more feminine, which I prefer.

Also have an ivory cream colored fedora (GH hat), which I rarely wear because I am afraid of getting it dirty. It also has a lighter band.

Have an Akubra Campdraft that is a bit lighter than silverbelly, has a matching band and a trolley strap.

I have a white Akubra cowboy hat -- a Snowy River style. Also a big Tom Mix open crown hat that I have yet to get styled. It is also a silvermist, about the same color as Art's custom fedora. I doubt I would ever wear it but might display it -- you have to be awfully big and/or tall and/or striking to pull off wearing that hat.

I love 'em

I've got an off white Borso with a cav. edge, a cream Boso Allesandra style on the (not modern), a very light grey Stratoliner, a Silverbelly open road and a light grey whippet. Maybe I'll post some pics at some point...

She was stolen on the QM while I was dancing.

A return to the scene of the crime was no help other than a lady telling me that a woman in a black dress placed the hat on her head and walked out the door.

Literally my favorite hat.

She will be missed.

The crew I was taking around on a ghost hunt the night in question can tell you that soon as ITG told me about Matt's loss, I became very bitter, I cursed like a sailor and was easy to upset... well, I was wearing a sailor suit at the time so, it fit I guess. I kept my eyes open for this "Devil in Black" and no luck, she must have taken it to her room or, maybe left with some friends off the ship... either way it's gone and I'm very sad to see it go. I know how it is to loose a hat... it's happened to me pretty much in the same way.

Keep the chin up Mr. Deckard, don't push your friends away because it's friends that REALLY matter in life, hats and vintage clothes are great fun but, we're all just keepers of these fine items for a short time.
