I've seen some items on ebay but haven't heard of Bolenium - a British brand from the 1950's, and can't find anything on the net... has anyone any info ? cheers
thanks for your reply chatreed... I've found out that Bolenium were manufactured by a company called W.A. Smith & Co of Boleyn Castle, Upton Park, London who exhibited at the 1929 British Industries Fair and that there a few Bolenium Bill shop displays around ..http://www.prices4antiques.com/adve...lay-Workman-Papier-Mache-30-inch-D9856853.htm
Seems a rare find to see some Bolenium overalls and jackets in brand new condition on ebay... seems like a real vintage bargain is on offer
just to update this... I was tempted enough to buy one of these... and it's amazing.. brand new and dates from 1920 to 1950 so real quality fabric, stitching... a real bargain when you look at some specialist vintage work wear sites!
.Wow...thanks.. really enjoyed reading the info you've put together. Loved the images in the catalogue and found my "new" jacket there - mine looks as good as the one in the pic (the Super All Purpose jacket) - I just need a huge monkey wrench to carry around! I think there are a couple of these jackets left on ebay.. and some bib & brace sets. I love everything about my jacket.. the quality and the look. Thanks once again for some enlightening information and the time it's taken you and your mother to put together a little potted history of a nearly forgotten British brand. Cheers!
