Thanks gang, I am ok, just scared like hell yesterday, the steam pressure= hot water temp was around 300 degrees water temp that hit me in the face, when water line blew, I rushed to close off the valve, and the hot water had back feed thru the water make up line. The check valve did not stop it the back flow from boiler.
Today, we were repiping and adding two check valves in the water make up line one close to the boiler and another one upstream, in hopes if the first one givesthe other will hold. Also installing a high head pressure pump in the make up line to send water pressure to te boiler higher than the pressure in the , boiler, that way the incoming water is at a PSI to keep the water water from coming back into the cold water feed line.
Tons of water on the floor Sunday, all is mopped up, run new lines and adding other devices this week. But all hats were good to go, matte of fact I had on a 100 X western bone, and me and it got soaked big time , it was wet wet , but by 5 pm Sunday you could not tell the hat had been soaked.
I just have to get back up and running and get the hats that are needing to get on blocks and hats shaped to the customers that are waiting
Again, I am ok, just a little gun shy of that steam, it can hurt you really bad,
Mike
