This one looks a lot like prison clothes... the brimless cap doesn't help it.

Nice combination... also note how close the buttons are to the hem.

Last night we were at a rather good swing easy, we know the band well. During their break we got talking to Martin, the saxophonist, he told us that he and his missus had bought a country pub. It's only a 30 minute drive from where we live so today we had a traditional roast beef Sunday lunch there. "Do dress up," pleaded Martin, no need to ask Martin, we don't do dressing down.

That's a Samuel Windsor, isn't it? I intend to pick up mored of those, for sure. Very pleased with the one I have.

I aspire to dress as well as GHT someday. A boating blazer is on my wish list. I like the dark color in that one.

Here is a travel poster (copy of a 1930s original) that I used to have. Unfortunately it got lost in one of my many moves.

That's a Samuel Windsor, isn't it? I intend to pick up mored of those, for sure. Very pleased with the one I have.

It is indeed a Samuel Windsor. Their customer care is second to none. Previously, I had bought a blazer during their winter sell off sale. A lovely jacket but there was something uncomfortable about the left sleeve. It fitted and I could wear it but it didn't feel 'right.'

My clever missus saw the problem and told me that the left sleeve was actually a right sleeve and although it had been fitted very well, the cut didn't match the small shoulder pad and that's where I was getting the discomfort feel.

Samuel Windsor explained that they didn't have any left to replace it but I could have one very similar. If you look at the photo above you will see the stripe is white with a smaller mustard colour stripe in the centre. Below is the original, look and see that the centre stripe is green. They told me to keep the original and they let me have the replacement without any additional cost. I was impressed.

Thanks for the lovely compliment. Blazers like the one featured in the Cunard poster are still around, you have to be astute and quick to find one though. There's a dealer in retro clothing and artefacts in the town of Bournemouth, name of Clobber, the store is about 20 or so miles from where I live. One day whilst browsing there I came across a real beauty of a find. It was one of those, right time, right place finds. The vendor had marked it down from fifty pounds to twenty five. When I tried it on, it fitted, but strained at the buttons, reluctantly I gave it back, but the vendor wanted to clear some stock. "Give me ten quid and wear the jacket open," he offered. "Sold!"
Right place, right time. better still, my clever missus soon fixed the button closure problem.

Samuel Windsor have a range of blazers, this one would contrast with almost any coloured trousers, but when my missus asked me what I thought of this strong, deep red for a pair of baggies, I knew that she was right. She has such an eye for detail.

You can see how versatile, the down brim straw that Esther made for me, is. It compliments almost any blazer. This one is known as a Henley, I have a similar one that's double breasted, my wife currently has it in her workshop. Somehow it managed to shrink whilst on a hanger in my wardrobe.

Go to any website where they sell summer blazers and you are sure to find this classic. Lightweight, seersucker, it lends itself to almost any accompaniment. Open neck shirt or a more formal neck tie, it never loses it's appeal.


The photo above with the dark red oxford bags looks like this blazer, a closer look and you can see that it's a cotton pin stripe.

Just like the sky blue and white pin stripe seersucker, this blazer lends itself to an open neck Aloha shirt, but is equally versatile when worn with a neck tie. The blue silk lining gives a lovely contrast to the blue stripe on the yellow background. Whether it's a neck tie or open neck shirt, both go perfectly with period trousers and shoes.

This blazer definitely had my name on it. My phone camera really doesn't do it justice. I shall match it up with an apple green and white stripe shirt, my bottle green baggies and these new shoes. I spent a fortune at this year's Twinwood festival.

Thanks Tom, the Peterman blazer is very desirable, I turned away quickly, I already have six boating blazers and another six, plain or dog toothed style. They can be very addictive.

This blazer was on sale at Twinwood, it definitely had my name on it. As did the shoes, the shirt, the tie, the.............

Whereas this blazer from: Samuel Windsor costs just £49:00. No prizes for guessing which one is in my wardrobe.
