Good evening Boater Enthusiasts,

My first Boater arrived last saturday! An Olney Boater ordered from a shop in the UK.
Unfortunately, I will sent it back to the shop. The hat looked nice and felt sturdy. The size was still a little big, although I ordered a size smaller then I usually do with hats, but a bit filling under the sweatband could solve the problem. So far so good. But after a second close inspection I saw the crown was off-centre. Very noticeable. Also my girlfriend spotted it immediately. The brim on the leftside measures 6 cm (2 3/8") and on the rightside 7 cm (2 3/4") (hope I got the translation from cm to inch right...) I don't mind little imperfections, but this much does bother me to much to actually wear the hat. A bit disappointed, although it was not an expensive hat, I hoped the quality control would have been a bit more strict.

For now the search for a Boater hat continues...
Will keep you updated!

My first boater, a 1940s (guessing latter half of the decade) Stetson Medalist. I love the "pillow" inside this one.
