Royal Stetson, late 1930s likely, possibly to 1941.

A pre-Stetson Mallory boater that just arrived today. The last photo shows how the weaving changes close to the intersection of the brim and crown, and this tighter weaving runs up the crown the same amount as on the brim. All I can say about dating is that this boater was made between 1934 to 1946, based on the Union label and the Mallory liner.

Wonderful Mallory Boater, Mike.

You're definitely building up one envious collection.

Circa 1950 or so.......Knox Premier Boater.
This was a fixer upper that a fellow lounger turned me onto several moths ago. Had a wonky broken brim. Otherwise was in fantastic collection!
I repaired and straightened it out. I cannot even see or remember where it was broken. This is the 4th such straw I have repaired. It fits well and I like it a lot. I actually wear the boaters frequently in the summer so it will get worn!:)

This one will replace another that I gave a good friend last summer, when he saw the boater I was wearing, said he always wanted one, suspected we were the same size, so I took it off and gave it to him....it DID fit!;) It was very similar to this one.........:)

I’ve bought a few of these Ponte Rialto boaters. They are a bit clunky, but I prefer them over the other recent manufactured boaters. Most have brims of approximately 2 inches, but this has a 2 ⅞ inch brim. The floating Bon-Ton ivy sweatband easily accommodates my long oval head and the fit is generous, more like a 62cm. I wish it had a plain black ribbon, but otherwise it’s a nice modern boater.

A nice looking modern Boater, Brent. I'd love a ribbon like that instead of a plain black one on some of my Boaters.

It's always been a mystery to me as to why the Bon-Ton ivy stiching went out of production. Cost, I guess. Nice to see it back.
