While in China last month on extended trip I watched this series. Thought the acting and plots excellent. I do think interest in Machine Age and Golden Era is emerging as evidenced by shows such as this being mainstreamed!

This has just started on Sky in the UK, so I haven't read all the previous posts because of spoilers, but it does look very interesting (and expensive!) Steve Buscemi is as excellent as ever, as is Steven Graham as Capone, although I am biased there as he is a fellow Liverpudllian and has the strongest scouse accent in real life!

He also made a great Baby Face Nelson in Public Enemies. "Wanna see my James Cagney?!"

I'm desperate to see this, but I don't have Sky, and I'm not likely to be getting it either. Looking forward to the DVD boxed set though... The snippets I have seen look good.

For the Australian Loungers!

Boardwalk Empire is showing on pay TV channel Showcase tomorrow Sunday 27th March 2011 at 7.30. Unfortunately the only plans I know of for free-to-air are possibly on SBS some time in 2012

Career ‘tough guy’ actor William Forsythe has nabbed a role on the show’s second season as gangster Manny Horvitz, The Hollywood Reporter reports. Forsythe has dabbled in organized crime roles before, having played Sammy The Bull Gravano in Gotti and Al Capone in the TV Series The Untouchables. And who could forget his role as the mobster Flattop in the 1990 Dick Tracy film starring Warren Beatty (I have fond childhood memories of that movie, despite the general public’s distaste for it)?

Also joining the fun is Charlie Cox (Stardust), who will portray a Northern Irish immigrant with ties to the IRA.

He also played a Jewish gangster, Philip 'Cockeye' Stein, in Once Upon a Time in America.
