The correct ‘fit’ is so subjective. The real question is; which actually feels better when worn?
It IS supposed to be a tight fitting jacket. After all, this design was meant to be worn as a second skin whilst racing a speedway bike.
For a more comfortable & relaxed casual jacket, sizing up to the 44 provides more scope for layering.
For what it’s worth, the 44 looks baggy to me. There appears to be quite a bit of excess material in the rear upper sleeves & through the back.
the 42 looks too form fitting, I hate that look IMO, the 44 has an issue with the shoulders/upper arms that could get worked out with wear or a bit of hot water.
I'd go with the...43"
In all seriousness 42" for super badass fit. 44" for turkey and ale winter weight possibilities...but if you are disciplined the 42" looks damn good from here.
