Blocking shoes?

Recently bought 3 pairs high quality (secondhand) shoes and must admit to having bought them a tad to small.
Thought about blocking them up from 9.5 to 10.
Possible?

And (dreaming...) up from 9 to 10?

It's unlikely you'll go up a full size. There are some different options (assuming you've worn them and can't just return them). You can wear them with wet thick socks. You can put larger shoe trees in them. There is apparently some spray stuff you can buy (shoe-stretcher) that you can spray on the interior leather that's supposed to open them up with wear. And finally, you can take them to a professional shoe shop where they can be stretched.

Spray

The spray "boot stretcher" stuff is fantastic for "adjusting" the width of cowboy boots. Just soak them inside and outside where you need the stretch, put on extra heavy or double socks and walk around a while. It's better than the old water trick and dries in about 30min.! Great stuff, but I don't know how well it would work for length. Ron

PS.. I'm a chronic in-between size

I agree with Allan - not a full size.

Freezer method - use caution

Ice expands in a powerful way, but plain water may expand too much. However the ulitimate zuccini recepie is to dice and puree some zuccini and place inside several layers of plastic bags then place into the shoes and place in freezer overnight. The water in the zukes expands streching the shoe. Caution this is a judgement call as too much expansion could blow out the stitching.
