Rrrrrather pricey: http://www.ebay.com/itm/182253805358

I do believe it would fit me very nicely, so I'm pretty sad. If only it were affordable!

"Reasonable offers will be considered", unlike the utterly unreasonable one he's presenting. I'm always mystified how they come up with this sort of figure for a jacket. I'm not sure what the top end for a mint seen-action A-2 but I'm pretty sure it's a lot less than £4K

FWIW he did not bite at my offer.

Somebody's obviously told the seller that it's worth £XXXXX and he's sticking to his guns. We've all done it on eBay: try to sell an item, convinced that it would go for more than it was actually worth, then sat and watched it fail to sell, completely baffled. Depends how bloody minded the guy is.

I thought it would be like 1500$-2200$ Like most people price their more unique jackets but that price is nuts.

There's a certain gentleman from Colombia that would probably be asking three times this much. The weirdest bit is the inclusion of typical search baits in the title, as if anyone looking for a Buco or Langlitz would be interested in this jacket. Would it? I wouldn't.

I you want that style in a Vintage Leather Jacket you probably won't find another as nice. The condition is amazing, just amazing.

Worth at least what the most expensive new one cost. What does a Himmel Heron cost new, over 2K$ I believe?
Not picking on the Heron just don't know any others in this style that expensive.

I would think there are folks willing to pay $2,500 for that jacket, but never 5K$.

Yeah, for half as much, I'd just have Himel copy it.

Should put 99c no reserve auction price on this. Will sell well even above what it is realistically worth but not at the ridiculous asking price.

John could use buttons like these on his. Other than that, I'd rather go repro since there are so many nice ones out there at the moment. I don't really want someone else's sweat-stains all over my unlined jacket.

What would folks here ask for this jacket if they were selling?

If I didn't really want to sell it, I'd probably ask $6500 :)

But I offered $700... what it's worth, as anyone will tell you, is what someone's willing to pay for it.

For over $700, I'd go with a nice pre-owned Aero jacket. Whether that's a fair way to value it or not, is not for me to say.

I'm really stunned by this Jacket. Forget the price for a moment. Look at the Condition, even has the cheescloth size tag! and a larger jacket size. This jacket has to be late 20s, . this Button Style had it's day, but went out with the zipper. It even looks good on an ill sized form. There is another decent one on ebay out of Chicago. It is quite small. It has been on there for some time. Just looked at the chicago jacket and it is not near this one.

This Style is often talked about here and often owned. I have a couple and I'm not sure I like the fit on me! They do represent something very Traditional about the leather Jacket. All the makers have some contemporary offering. We just saw Good Wear's offering in this market.

In the pretty small world of Leather Jacket collecting this is pretty special and valuable.

A Timeless Classic in near Time Capsule condition.

On second thought and seeing the condition the jacket is in after looking carefully at the pictures I believe the price might not be that crazy after all. This is worth much more than any of the reproductions out there and they're asking 1500$ to 2300$ so I would say this jacket could be worth around 3000$ easily in my opinion.

It's obviously not easy to find a jacket like this one, with the label in mint condition and without any signs of dry leather or tears anywhere.

This is a nice find and in a very common size so I think someone will buy it if it gets relisted for way less than that. It's just a very rare collector's item.

I saw this and literally laughed out loud. Reminds me of the vintage Herc I bought that I paid a mint for, looked perfect in the photos and literally exploded, at nearly every seam when I put it on. It's not worth the $. No way no how and Guppy your offer was more than what it's worth, at least to me. The frail nature of Vintage jackets always puts me off top tier pricing. TM that Wards I tried on of yours was the closest thing to time capsule perfect that I've ever seen and tho it's maybe 30 years younger...that just doesn't equate to the dollar differential here.

That was my thinking, too, and why above $700 I'd go with a used Aero which is a bit more of a known quantity to me. There's always a risk with vintage stuff, and when you get burned like that it definitely makes you shy. It'd be a bit of a different story if you could handle it in person to be assured that it wasn't in delicate condition. From the look of it, it's not, but looks can be very deceiving. If it's in the condition advertised, it's a grail jacket for people into the style. I'm sure someone with very deep pockets who has to have it may eventually take the prize. For $6500 in the late 1920s, you could buy yourself a very nice house tho. What would this have cost new, maybe $5?
