By the way, here's an idea of what a white waistcoat looks like with black tie. The illustration is from 1923 and the photo is from 1925.

You mentioned the same thing the last time I posted a photo and I'm not sure what to say. Previously I had responded that the photos showed up fine in my browser and that would I contact the web site administrator. He subsequently informed me that there was no problem.

Ah, but they are classic. Stud sets with black onyx or black enamel were indeed worn with white waistcoats, as long as those waistcoats were used with tuxedos. It was considered very gauche to wear white mother-of-pearl studs with a tuxedo -- and this includes waistcoat studs.
