For your consideration is a 3-month old Black Steerhide Highwayman from Aero Leathers in Scotland. This was a stock jacket for Thurston brothers, I am the first & only owner. This jacket is made of "Particularly heavy" steerhide, it's a little over 7.5 lbs in weight. The lining is Lochcarron Kidd Ancient lightweight wool tartan lining that looks awesome with the glossy black steerhide of this jacket. It has one inside pocket with no closure, Nickle Talon hardware, Three pocket front, straight cuffs, no internal storm cuffs, all pockets lined in Moleskin. Sleeves are cotton sateen (black). Stiching is olive drill. Includes original tag from Aero.
The Steerhide on this jacket is very stiff, it feels a lot closer to Vanson's Competition weight steerhide, or a Lost Worlds 4 Oz horsehide. It is breaking in slowly, please see the many detailed shots below, it's going to take some time and effort to break this one in!
For sizing help, it's a tag size 42, and I am 6' 1" and 195 lbs today. All photos were taken today.
Dimensions (Verifed from Thruston brothers):
