Thanks for the recent compliments fellas.

To give a quick answer to the cost of a refurbish, they can range anywhere from $20 and up. It just depends on the hat. Like Mike said, when in doubt give me a call. If we can save an old hat, I am happy to do it.

When you consider the cost of refurbing a vintage classic to make it like new and compare that to the prices of the modern day off the shelf fur felts, I think you're getting a far better quality hat at a lower price for the refurb. I'll take the refurb of an old classic over the new stuff any day.

I am learning that myself, and it appears to be paying off.

Jared, I've been sworn to secrecy for months about the Pinnacle Edge after seeing various prototypes but can assure you that it is indeed comparable to a Cav-edge. Since the true Cav-edge was done during the felting process and that art has been lost for decades, Bob's is indeed hatter magic.

Aesthetically, THAT EDGE is cool! If it also adds a bit of stiffness to the brim, even better. Black Sheep offers lots of nice hats with really nice option choices. They will stand out even more from the crowd now. :eusa_clap

Paid another fun visit to Bob's yesterday to pick up this semi-calado, a bit of a grail hat for me. Despite the 2" embossed sweatband (these sweats are fantastic) the finished hat weighs just 2.8 oz. The ribbon is navy

A very neat detail, vintage style hat hanger

Thanks for posting more pics of this hat, Mike. Bob has done a fantastic job for you.

I've worn my VS version a lot during this hot Texas summer, I'm sure you'll be getting the same pleasure from yours. Perfect hats for a hot day and they look great too!

Mike; OK I GIVE - THAT IS ONE GREAT Semi-Calado! Wow, that one has the stuff that I dream off sir.

Excellent, truly excellent.

Wear it proudly, knowing that you will be the coolest (in temp and panama style) around. Best, Eric -
