There are nice hats in this thread for sure, but I'm not going to lie; on the Black Sheep website, I'm really liking the looks of the Watcher and Shakedown models. I would prefer a lower crown though than 4 3/4 inches. Can they make adjustments to their displayed models in such a way?

Coble, I must admit that hat looks great on you..... I couldn't imagine how it would look on and the pic shows it well.... I like the bow work on that hat also....

I had no clue as to the type of hats and work coming out of this shop... Thanks for posting these , Egghead and Coble

Sure, Bob is a custom hat maker after all. My hat was made to requested dimensions.

Coble-- it's just unreal. Standing ovation for Bob once again. Awesome on you. Plus in your pics, that upturned brim looks so nice on [presumably] him-- it has me considering it for the first time ever! You must be thrilled-- congrats again.

thanks

thanks guys for all your compliments. One thing i'd like to mention, that i forgot, bob blocked the hat backwards on purpose, so the front is actually the back, and the back is the front. Also another interesting fact, its a block for a ladies hat. Just a little inside information you could say. Thanks Bob, had a few compliments in the airport, and noticed its a head turner, a few people were staring at me, it was crazy.

Thanks for the kind words Mr. Coble, it was great to get to meet you and your wife. Working for nice folks like you is what makes this job so rewarding. Glad to hear you get such nice compliments on the hat, it looked great on you.

Also wanted to thank everybody here for the great comments. Being the hat nut that I am, I love it here in the lounge. Seeing myself as one of the topics is more than flattering and inspires me to work even harder. Thanks guy, it means a lot.

The Black Sheep hats are beautiful. The felt looks wonderful and I love the Bow Treatment. You guys did good. I'm holding off on a custom right now until I see the new HatCo/Bucharoo/Lounge Strat that is coming out. After that one is behind me I'm gonna start looking pretty hard. I've met Gus at Batsakes in Cincy a couple of times and I'm thinking of giving him a try. He has some beautiful customs on display there. Now that I've been hanging with you guys and know the differences between good and great I feel I have the knowledge needed to design a hat that will fit my head and my personality. I'm glad I didn't do it a year ago when I first started thinking about it. I'd probably be wearing something that I wasn't really happy with.

I still think this thread should be titled the Black Sheep Flock but with so many nice hats already posted I didn't want to start another thread....

Point being, my Black Sheep hat showed up today and I think it is a beaut......

I am going to post the pics that Bob sent me for the final approval before sewing the ribbon on because they are so much better than what I could take.

Very soft felt. So soft I believe the brim just might flop in the breeze but snaps right back into shape.....

Bob ended up hand dying the ribbon for the edge binding. I don't think you could ask for anymore than that.....

He is a gentlemen that is a pleasure to deal with and that is for sure and for certain...

That hat looks fantastic! I particularly like the profile of the brim flange and the ply of the ribbon. Congrats on a beauty of a hat!

That is one fantastic hat, OG. You won't be surprised to learn that I have a little project going on with Bob as well =)

Not a fedora though!

Randooch, it is a Brass Wrap that Bob came up with, Really sets off the bow I think....
