As promised, here are some better pics of Bill Kelso's Dubow 27798.
Seal Liberty, olive drab thread, new 100% wool brown knit (this is slightly darker than the medium brown, and matches the seal liberty beautifully)...
This is a 42 long (approx an inch added to sleeves and body)
I'm 5'11 72kgs athletic
Measures approx...
Shoulders - 17.75"
Back length - 25.5"
Sleeves - 26” plus
Pit to pit F - 22”
Pit to pit B - 22”
Zipper - 23”
Seal Liberty is a gorgeous chocolatey mid brown, lots of grain and character - I absolutely love it.
The new mid brown knits match the hide perfectly.
What more can be said… Can’t fault it at all. Very well made, top quality original-maker repro. Top-tier for sure!

Very nice Brett. Please keep this. Very close in color to Goodwear's pigment russet Shinki...I call it the quintessential WWII russet shade. It's labeled seal but looks like a perfect russet in the lighted pics.

While my favourite contract is the Perry Sportswear 23377, the best fitting jacket that I ever owned was a 27798 by Good Wear. A very stylish and forgiving contract. Lovely example, Brett.

Hmm haven't handled BK liberty myself but the grains look very similar to the grain of Platon's horsehide. Not just a shared past history it seems.

Brett, as far as I know you've got broad shoulders, so the jacket doesn't look to be 17.75'' in shoulders on your photos above. mAre you sure you've measured jacket's shoulders correct?
Yup, measured very carefully. Its the pattern. The front panel is slightly wider/ larger than the back panel with Dubows. So, you may find the front shoulder to shoulder is wider than the back, slightly. horrible to measure... There is a bit of pull when lifting arms, but not uncomfortably so.

Nick, its defo seal. I'd call it a quintessential WW2 chocolatey mid-brown. I absolutely love it. Its like so many originals I've seen. No red/ orange hues. It's brown.
Its slightly lighter than Platon's seal, and also has a bit more grain. Platon's has a bit more hue variation, which is quite nice.
EDIT: In fact, its not too dissimilar in colour to a LW's Dubow I owned years ago. Quite a different jacket mind you.

Whatever it is, it fits impeccably. I think the same of many of your previous jackets you've owned, but this one is marginally superior to them all!

Up for sale to a good home. Unworn, except for fit and fit-pics. £600 plus postage.
Lots too much sleep over this. I absolutely need a bit more length in the sleeves...
