Bitter-sweet memories of Berlin Airlift

OK I know this is a little after WW2, but think it is an interesting story

It reads....

On 12 May 1949, the Soviet blockade, which prompted the Berlin Airlift, came to an end.

Sixty years later, veterans who took part in the frantic efforts to keep the city supplied with food have been recalling events.

I remember reading about the "Candy Bomber" who dropped candy on little parachutes. Years later my Boss would do the same in Viet-Nam but out of a Chopper.
