Right then! First post for a little while (tho I have been looking in most days) but my jacket arrived today so I thought I'd share.......

I've been a fan of A2 flight jackets for a few years now, I've owned and worn regularly a Cooper that I bought on ebay around 5-6 years ago. Whilst I really like it and wear it on a very regular basis the goatskin leather never seems to age at all. It looks the same now as it did when I bought it and from what I can gather it must be around 15 years old. I'd been thinking for a while about upgrading to a horsehide A2 and started looking at the various different manufacturers last November. I've never spent big on a leather jacket before and the thought of spending over a grand and waiting up to 2 years for a jacket was a non starter. I wanted the jacket for my birthday which is on 1st April and I finally decided to go with BK. I was assured that if I ordered before end of Dec my desired delivery date wouldn't be a problem. The clincher with going with BK was the claim and photos seen on various Facebook groups that the leather used would age & look 'old' within a few months if worn regularly.

I placed the order on 14th Dec and the jacket arrived today - 12 weeks later, (so well in time for my birthday!) The negative comments read on here a couple of weeks or so after I had placed the order had me seriously wondering whether I'd made a big mistake, and I emailed Andy telling him of what I'd read, and my misgivings. He assured me not to be concerned and all correspondence with him has been polite and courteous (although sometimes a little slow in response) and i have to say so far my initial feelings on receipt are nothing but delight. The smell is gorgeous, the fit is spot on and quality seems to be first class, and I'm at the moment a very happy bunny!

Let's see how the aging lives up to the claims! View attachment 159726 View attachment 159727 View attachment 159728 View attachment 159729 View attachment 159730 View attachment 159731 View attachment 159732 View attachment 159733

I really like the red knits, jacket looks great...nice one.

I've got a Monarch A-2 (ELC) for wearing on my Vespa :)

Phenomenal man. My Eastman Star had strawberry red/pink stitching. I know your red knits are historically correct for the Aero contract; but I propose this: even if your jacket isn't "historically accurate", there's still many historical nuances in your jacket!

Out of curiosity are rust knits not overly desirable.. I did read that an Aero contract did have rust knits...

Red knits are very desirable as far as I’m concerned and that’s why both of my A-2s are Aero reproductions with rust knits.
Kojax was making the point that read knitts are not historically accurate on a Star Sportswear A2. A valid point, but I agree with Innocenti Kid that they look great and at the end of the day it is his jacket.

How long was the wait nowadays for a BK? How’s their sales doing?

Rust knits are very common with this dark color and are historically accurate. some here have no clue on a2s. this looks spot on and great.
