Bill Kelso A-2 or Aero

Actually, the REAL secret is to observe how often you get "A2AS" (A2 Acquisition Syndrome), and get in que accordingly.
In my case, it's every 2 months.
So...every 2 months I place an order with GW for an A2.
After that first 8-10 month wait for the first jacket...I have one of John's jackets coming in every 8 weeks! :D

The hide on the RW 23380 looks very nice. The music on the web site is just as good....turn around time might be better than Aero. Good to see ELC and Aero have some competition. Drives up customer service and eliminates/reduces complacency. I think the new line is much better than the first generation, going by pics only. Would be nice to get trade in value for the "next generation"...

Glad to see the new site

I agree. The latest BK RW appears to be a more accurate repro than A2s made in Scotland.

I love Aero. But they need to improve on the pictures. They're getting old, and they're too small. I'd also like to see them put more of their custom (customer) orders up there so people can see that they have options outside of the norm. When I was new to the sport, I found the site a tad confusing. I spend my life on a computer, so I may be more critical of this sort of thing. But make no mistake, it's important for any business, and Aero isn't a shop many outside of the hobby know a lot about - and you don't stroll by their factory to shop :)
And let me be clear- I'm not saying it's a bad site - far from it. Very far from it.
Well, you're right with this, the site is confusing and the pics ain't good. Extras and options is a good point: up-front, you have no idea about the lining, which options are available. Then, after the order, you get the info from Amanda that you can coose from 300+ tartans from Lochcarron. Their site is as bad, as you have to click on the tartans name to see a sample. Too many choices are also not a good idea, it is better to have less. 5 or 10 different linings would be ample, and the 300+ for the folks who want to have the very special item, for a mere 50 GBP ;-) surcharge.
But anyway, what I wanted to say before is that this is not totally urgent in my view as they seem to have good business. For me, more stockists (with fair pricing!) would be more important. I'm old-fashioned, I need to see it in the flesh.

The tartans are listed in pictorial form in light, medium and heavyweight categories.
