I own several Lost Worlds. Great jackets. Speed Demon style not recommended over a much more versatile cafe racer (Lost Worlds Easy Ryder in 3 oz horse-since you live in Florida) or a multi purpose classic like the Suburban, again in 3 oz, nothing heavier for day to day wear.
Cafe Racer (many top manufacturers) or a Lost Worlds Suburban would do.
Yup you're correct about LW's lighter horse. I definitely like it better for my jackets. I have a LW Roadmaster in Stuart's lighter horse, and I absolutely love the jacket. Since my initial post, I picked up 2-Speed Demons (brown/black), along with a Raider in goatskin.

Quickly! The Wild One Durable on eBay for a freaking steal. Grab it and make a fortune in Japan.

I was actually surprised after owning Lost World's 4 oz hides at the absolute beauty of Stuarts 3 oz horse. I have never handled a better leather on any jacket. Simply SUPERB!

This is gonna get someone a small fortune, especially with time. They're super rare and people usually don't realize what it is, mistaking it for just another vintage cross zip. Extremely nice example and it looks spot on as the on screen jacket. Details are newer but the patterns seems the same. Man, I should've gotten it and made a few hundred $ but meh...

Yes, quite true. I still have a LW easy Rider in the 4.0 horse that I really love and use on the bike, but the 3.0 Downtown I have has another kind of quality about it, lighter, drapes nicely and more supple. These are things that are appealing to me for an around town coat, whereas I don't care about them when I am on a motorcycle.

I had a Downtown in the 4.0 and I loved the armor feel but it was a beast! I still would have kept it though, had it been the correct size for me.....

Here's an interesting post which talks about Brando's jacket in the movie:
http://vintageleatherjackets.blogspot.ca/2008/04/ive-spent-last-thirteen-years-digging.html

I also saw someone post on a forum (which I can't remember, but it might have been Film Jackets) about having his motorcycle jacket repaired. He showed a photo of it with the insulation and liner removed for repairs and made the point, which I agree with, that in some photos you can see the pocket liners of Brando's jacket showing when his jacket is unzipped. In other words, it's 99% likely that they removed the insulation and lining from his jacket for the film, which would make it drape in the way it does.

I posted a couple photos of him, front views in the same jacket, a few posts back in this thread (post #135). Presumably vintage Schott, but I'm no expert.
I take that back. Further reading suggests that Schott always had the zips along the bottom of the sleeves, not the outside.

THAT'S what a biker jacket is SUPPOSED to look like. That's perfection, right there. Someone sticky that.
Roomy shoulders and arms, tight waist?

Here's something that will set your teeth on edge: there's lots of people on the interweb complaining about how vintage motorcycle jackets are too big in the sleeves. They're the same people, as far as I can tell, who seem to think the upper arm measurement on Schott size charts is the most important number. Heck, I'd be tempted buy one of their jackets one size too big, then get a leather person to take in the waist at the sides to get that nice taper.

MC jackets have to have room in the upper part of the sleeves. People want to turn MC jackets into something they're not and then when someone does it, they complain about how it's a fashion item and clearly a piece of crap. Luckily, Schott is doing both.
This is so true. I'm guilty of it!
