That's a really good idea- classic on the outside- effective safety reflective gear discreetly hidden.

Gimmick!!

I see the rolled cuffs sliding down into the front sprocket/bottom bracket at some point (a universal problem since the invention of the bicycle) . Mind you, you'll be safe until that point.

When I biked as a student, I used a "geek strap". It's a nylon/elastic band that velcros over your cuff and had reflective tape sewn on it. I paid $5 for a pair and they lasted me years until I lost them.

What you need is a real bike...

An English 3-speed, that is, with a fully enclosed chaincase and of course mudguards. Add a proper skirtguard if you're a lady.

Here's my wife's 1940s/50s New Hudson:

The Musuem of Modern Art (MOMA) has leg clips to keep your pant legs from getting caught in the chain. They are designed like the wings of Mercury (or FTD) and are not that expensive. You can order them online from MOMA, I believe.

One thing to consider is how many times you can wash them before the illuminNITE wears out. I cannot find any info on the webpage for the pants or the fabric about the number of wash cycles you get out of the material.
