I think that pic is very good, thanks for sharing it Dr Greg. I like Mercedes too! But I am not a Nazi btw before people jump down my neck and start a politcal debate.
Try www.eshirt.it to get custom t shirts made up, I make all my kids AAF t shirts there. Good luck!
It wouldn't be my first choice for a t-shirt, but that's just my opinion. I've always loved Mercedes Benz, but really not a fan of Nazi's. Seeing pictures like this does give me the chills, and makes me wish that I wasn't such a fan of the automobile brand. They do make a heck of a car! Now I know why my grandfather refused to ride in my parents cars while growing up.
If you do decide you want this on your shirt and you have a printer, you could do it yourself. Kodak makes iron on printer paper that I have heard works really well. I think Epson also makes paper like this too.
I wonder where that picture came from? A source would be useful.
I retain a reticence regarding Mercedes, BMW, and Volkswagon,
though I realize it is not rational. After all, Ford and GM produced
a great many vehicles for the Nazis, and Henry Ford himself was
a rabid antisemite and strong supporter of Hitler. He even managed
to siphon profits from his Vichy France operations through the
Caribbean and back to the US during the war. And now that
Chrysler is part of Mercedes, where does that leave the American
car buyer? I'll probably be buying from another Axis power soon...
The image is from the magazine SIGNAL which was published by the Wehrmacht. I can get a t-shirt done at my local printer's easily, I just think it says a lot more than first appears, Doesn't Hunter S Thompson refuse to take a Merc from the rental guy in F&L in Las Vegas because he's "not a ******* Nazi, give me a decent American car", which he trashes.
Well, the thing is a bit misleading since the bombers are Heinkel He 111s and except for the prototypes and couple early low production models the vast majority produced did not use Daimler-Benz engines. They used Junkers Jumo V-12s. The Messerschmitt 109 would have been a much better plane to represent the engines.
