Good point. Crying shame a lot of people in the hobby don’t think of things in that way. As for the aprons (which I agree with the point that they rarely are seen in period photos and the vets don’t normally recall using them), I have also talked with plenty of ground guys from WW2 over the years, and many of them never wore the A-3 mechanic’s cap (the one with the long bill). Many I have talked with said they wore the standard 1941 model HBT fatigue hat.Davep said:cc0231 - good points, without historian/reenactors always holding to a historical standard, history fades.
