This photo is from several years ago, but gives a good view of my Roundhouse overalls. My grandson (who is 16 now) is also wearing Roundhouse overalls.

Oops. I just noticed that the overalls I'm wearing in this photo are Key brand and not Roundhouse. My apologies for not paying close attention. I will say, however, I did like the Key brand, but switched to Roundhouse due to 1) being America made, and 2) wider selection in sizes.

I wear my overalls for work, so would rather have them a little on the shorter side in the legs and a lot bigger in the waist/body. As a general rule, I will order about four sizes too big and four inches too short from my "normal" size (although anyone who knows me would never call me "normal").

My experience with Roundhouse is they are fairly true to size. But, if you are going to up-size a little, I would recommend going with a shorter than usual inseam.

The only thing I don't like about Roundhouse overalls is the watch pocket in the bib. It is just a slot that opens into the left side top bib pocket. If you bend over, your pocket watch will fall out. I fix this by sewing up the top of the pocket. It gives me one less bib pocket, but does keep my pocket watch safe. That's just a minor complaint on my part, and not enough to keep me from buying from them and giving my recommendation to others.

I would also add, I work hard in my Roundhouse overalls, and a pair will last me three to four years. That's good, hard farm type work where they get dirty.

Same here with the pocket watch slot, I carry one daily. Hate that it's in the pocket like that. Great idea on sowing it up!!!! You can't use the pocket anyway.

I'll get shorter! :)

Have you tried Pointer Brand? They are a little more roomier. And more true to size than RoundHouse. I own mainly this brand. Made right here in TN. They are pricy, but they run sales a lot. Get on their mailing list.

Alright. Headed to get my needle and thread out! :)

Haven't tried a Key, but yeah, I like that Pointer and RoundHouse are USA made!
Nice boots! Brand?

I have a hat similar to that. An Akubra FedIV.

The boots are from LL Bean. I've had them for close to 10 years.

Haha. It's hard to stop wearing them once you start! :)

Right you are! I was dissapointed with the selection at our local farm supply (Bangledesh & Taiwan Made) so an order has been placed with LC King for a Pointer brand pair. Should see them in about 2 weeks.

Love the Pointers!!! Bangladesh?!?! Didn't know they made them there.

I got a pair on the way from the Bay, Key Imperial Brand. After seeing Big Man in them, had to find a pair to go with my collection. :)

I grew up on Big Smiths, but the Key Imperials are my favorites. I usually find USA mades one as I tend to shop in thrift stores.

Yeah, it took some looking, but I found a USA made pair. You wouldn't know what year they quit making them in US?
I grew up wearing Liberty. But they don't make them very good anymore.

My criteria for bib overalls:

1) must be a size big enough (sometimes those are hard to find)
2) must have a button fly ("real" overalls do not have a zipper fly)
3) must not have any zipper pockets on the bib (see above)
4) must have a watch pocket on the bib (people who wear bib overalls should have a pocket watch or no watch at all)
5) if at all possible, I want my overalls to be American made

I would really like to find an "open back" pair for summer wear, but so far I haven't found a pair that I like or meet the above criteria.

Great criteria!
Since I grew up wearing Liberty, I don't mind the zipper pocket, but I do like button fly the best!

I also like my overalls not only to fit, but be roomy! I have a few pair that are big enough in waist and length, bug snug in the crotch.

Round House open back go up to 54 waist, I think. But they only come with zipper fly.
I've never tried an open back, not sure if I would like them or not. No body I knew growing up wore them either. Just not popular in my area I guess. Haha

Very nice!!! It's pretty cool where they put the watch pocket. Bet they are warm!

Yes, very warm. 24 ounce fulled wool. The only problem with the watch pocket placement is that you pretty much have to be standing to check the time.

Thanks,
Michael
