That's indeed a great moment... but Davis had some help from major geniuses in creating it: writer Lillian Hellman, director William Wyler, and cinematographer Gregg Toland!

It kills me that William Powell is so underrated (although not here in the lounge). I've never seen him give a bad performance. He runs the gambit from archly sophisticated to out and out slapstick. Such a great physical comedian too. I wish he would have gotten the recognition Cary Grant did while he was living.
