I think I've only had a couple since I've been here. My current one was taken back in September in a BT-15 trainer and I was dressed as a WWII WASP. I think I had a different WASP shot before that.

My favorite are probably Quigley Brown and Tony in Tarzana, although I have seen many lovely avatars on this forum!

Wingnut,

I've seen this photo (2nd photo, B+W) on Paddy's page.

My question is, how did you get the vintage effect. Photoshop or something expensive like that?

I want a print of the original version of that Houdini poster for my wall...
This is actually a poster for a magician named "Thurston". Not a great magician, but rather a great showman. I think he would have been successful doing anything. His posters are highly prized and very colorful. Eyecatching is the word I guess.

Thanks for that... there *is* a Houdini poster that has the same "Do Spirits Come Back" legend on it though, and that's the one I was thinking of:

Your one was posted on Shorpy recently, wasn't it?

Always the same here

But I switch them around a lot on Myspace. I thought I would let it sink in for a while... maybe it's time to try one of these out...?

They're all gorgeous, Miss 1929 - the snow photo is particularly evocative. I love the style and composition of the anniversary shot, the Halloween outfit is gorgeous (perhaps not as in-theme with the FL as the others, but so lovely I don't think it would matter at all if you chose it), and of course I'm partial to the "original" Miss 1929 shot.

My gosh Sara, that anniversary pic totally had me fooled - I'd have guessed it was from the 40s if not ealier...

And now some past Fletch avatars.
