New haircut on Tuesday. At least in my experience, side bangs are way overrated as far as wear goes. I've got over the brow, not too wide, not too thick bangs with uneven ends. I think it's more flattering to my face. A bit like the bangs I had when I joined FL and though I've never described them to a hairdresser before, it's the bangs style I always return to. They're also the easiest to grow out without ruining the whole style. They're wash and air dry, I don't care which direction they blow in, when I come in I can just shake my fingers through them if I care, they just mind themselves if I'm indoor.

I think I might actually be able to roll them around a small diameter roller if I really want to change them for a day which was always the hardest thing with side bangs.

Accepting that I'm happiest with my hair when it's well conditioned and cared for so hair care products is where I place my money.

Accepting my skin condition and placing the largest amount of money and care on my skin!

Just a little more money and time spent on my skin and hair makes every day easier and I don't actually have to obsess over the state of my hair or condition of my skin through the day like I used to.

Just allowing myself to do something for myself that doesn't benefit anyone else.

Quitting most things that aren't good for my health. It's not a loss, it's a gain when my body, skin, tinnitus etc. is improved or at least not worsened.

I need to be comfortable and any small change can bring on big comfort benefits in my experience.

Finding the right bra has definitely helped, it always makes me feel that much more girlie when I know I have a great fitting bra on (and it definitely helps that it's pretty).

Also cutting back on sugar and exercising nearly daily have helped me feel so much less tired and more me :)

I third finding the right bra size. Getting properly fitted was one of the best things I've ever done.

Dying my hair black! I always had dark brown hair, but that move to black 5 years ago made all the difference! I felt so much sassier and more powerful with black hair!

That and cutting back on the sugar and bad carbs! I do allow myself enough cheats so that I can enjoy some bad things now and then, though ;)

I've got to say the eyebrows. I recently let them grow out a bit more, which is really hard to do as it's so tempting to pluck those hairs that look messy. But now they're fuller, frame my face better and look much more like 1940s eyebrows.

(I'm new, hii!)

1. Growing out my fringe, can do soo many different styles with it now!
2. Realising that long(er) dresses can be sexy too!
3. Accepting how I look, freckles and all!
4. To stop going mad with the tweezers on my brows + also using a brow pencil!

Hello fellow newbie,

I agree completely about the long dresses thing. The more I dress in vintage wear, the more I actually begin to see how short the other girls clothes are! And how revealing. I definately now find ladies sexier who leave something to the imagination.

Being told that I need to wear balcony rather than plunge bras, and having a long chat with a lady about where my bra should sit.
I've just bought a Collette Dinnigan bra from M&S and it has done wonders for my figure! I don't know why other bras don't work as well, but I'm going to have to buy a few more, I think...

Hrmm...
My list:
1. Mid-heel shoes. I can finally stop having to constantly look up at people. I also seem to walk more gracefully.
2. Red lipstick and nails. I just like the brightness.
3. Growing out my hair.

1. Having the courage to color my hair. My sis-in-law helped me with that one. I showed up at her house one day complaining about my gray hair and she said, "We're going to color it TODAY." She is a former beautician and whipped out two boxes of hair color - a dark auburn. I was skeptical at first (since I have naturally light brown hair) but I LOVE how it looks!

2. Exercising and losing weight. I feel so much better about myself when I keep the weight off. It's recently started to creep back on due to some unexpected surgery a few months ago that messed up the hormones (I had an ovary removed), so I'm struggling to get in control of it again.

3. Keeping my hair LONG. I don't look good with short hair!

Getting contacts. Not because I didn't like how I looked with glasses--I did--but because now I can wear sunglasses. (Prescription ones were always too expensive for me!) My eyes are pretty photosensitive, but I look so much better now that I'm not walking around with a squint and a cross look from a sunlight-induced headache!

Giving up coffee and drinking green tea instead, discovering martial arts and going 3x a week to the dojo, and learning how to sew vintage patterns.

Back around Thanksgiving I went back to my natural color, very dark, nearly black, to be practical and save on hair color. Well 2 weeks ago I went back to my bright red again. And honestly it has made a world of difference I feel like me again. I hadn't even realized just how much I missed my red hair, it is so good to have it back.

Stopping biting my nails. As well as looking much better, the area around my nails doesn't hurt any more.
