Has anyone owned one of these A2s as advertised by OP? The goatskin does look nice on the pictures but 750 USD for a non-original pattern goatskin A-2 seems like a lot of money to me, you can get an US-authentic for like 400 and USA is well-received here on the board.

The marketing company that SM hired has no basic understanding of the clientele of their products! It’s insulting to our intelligence to juxtapose a repro (that is meant to appeal to the astute) with an obvious historical image & call it an “emotional context”.

The jacket looks not bad but more like just a usual generic mall A-2 jacket, except pricing. Considering that its strange emotional marketing strategy mentioned above looks quite funny and ridiculous, esp on this board) There are lots of members over here on TFL who are well-educated in repros, A-2s incl. Hope the thread starter has already understood that)

Alas, i forgot to look at the A-2s but did buy a repo 41’ USMC utility jacket.

LOL...I looked at the site as well. Looks OK...Personally I like Pike, (bros. that is). But this stuff looks good if you're into it I suppose. The jacket the OP mentioned does not look spectacular in any way whatsoever but I'm not hip to A-2's.

It is important to know and understand your target audience. Thing is, around here, the audience knows and understands as much (often times more) than the manufacturer. Probably twice as true for the military jacket crowd. Tough nut to crack.
