Berman Buckskin Leather Jacket Size 40

This jacket belonged to a family member. I'd like to keep it, unfortunately it's too small for me. As the photos show, it's basically a leather version of a jean jacket (trucker's jacket). Age is unknown but was probably purchased in the late 60s/early 70s. Size 40 but to me seems smaller, see measurements below.

Price is $200.

Also listed on eBay w/a couple addtl photos. I have positive feedback going back a long time.

  • Overall condition is very good
  • Leather is substantial but lightweight
  • Smooth leather, brown
  • Epaulettes on shoulders
  • No tears, holes or major signs of wear
  • Interior hem a bit worn (see photo)
  • Berman Buckskin of Minneapolis, MN
  • Label marked Size 40 (see photo)
  • Satin lined interior, nice smooth material
Measurements:
  • Sleeve length, shoulder seam to bottom of sleeve: 23.5 inches
  • Armpit to armpit, across: 20 in.
  • Back center length, top of collar to bottom hem: 24 in.
  • Shoulder seam to shoulder seam, across: 18 in.
Could be deerskin based on on name of mfg, but I'm not sure. I'll leave that up to you to determine.

This is from back when "genuine leather" actually meant what is says. If you see those words on a leather garment today it means it's processed leather parts - not really a leather hide at all. BTW, that's a beautiful, unusual jacket.
