Before and After Vintage

I thought it would be a neat idea to see what we looked like before we got into vintage and after. I'm still not sure why I liked how looked then! Just goes to show you how much your tastes can change I suppose.

Of course, my younger brothers still heartily say I looked better before. But I guess we need people who enjoy different things, it would be pretty boring if we were all the same. (Privately however, I think if we all dressed vintage I think we'd make a rather dashing group)

Your hair is so much more beautiful these days, Kiri! I wish mine was so long and lush; I really have trouble getting mine into any kind of style.

Boy do I have some shockers both from before and after!
The first is from around three years ago- around the time I starting to love wearing vintage more and more. I think I stopped dying my hair pink by this time….notice the snowwoman with the tilt hat!
And the next pic is yours truly (Up to date!) in my every day apparel.

The vintage thing for me started since I developed an allergy to hair dye that was such an integral part of my look a few years before. I sometimes miss it, since it was easier to dress all black all the time, but I don't miss the hair upkeep (getting colored and straightened), or the monotonous way of dress, (rock and roll influenced) which is pretty common here. Since I started dressing in this style I've been wearing a lot of my vintage-pattern sewing projects, so what I've been wearing has been definitely more unique.

Even before I dressed vintage I was watching old movies and listing to Doris Day, Rosemary Clooney and Ella Fitzgerald. The Music and movies came first then the clothes and hair.
