Unfortunately, it is UK only. I wish the BBC would get on-board with open source. There is so much I would love to watch on their websites but cannot.

I'm sorry to hear that. I had no idea it was only viewable here.

I suppose that makes this post a bit superfluous...

I'm not a big fan of 'docu soaps' as a general rule, but there have been some superb shows on BBC4 showing day to day life on Saville Row. This is an intereting link too - thanks.

Regarding iPlayer, the Beeb have limited its free accessibility to the UK simply to restrict its audience to those who have paid a television licence fee (at least in theory - I presume those who have no TV are able to download the content without having a licence). I do seem to recall there being some talk of it being available to international audiences on a subscription basis, though I have no idea whether that has been rolled out as of yet.

A few phrases about the broadcast spring to mind. Relentlessly trendy. A post-modernist (and Oriental) view of 'traditional British tailoring'.

As with most programmes of this type, you reach the end feeling that you don't know any more about 'traditional british tailoring' than you did at the beginning.

Just my opinion.

I think that's a fair assessment. There's nothing that new here. However, I'd never really thought about how Saville Row tailors marketed themselves; it was interesting to me in that respect.

The programmes in this series would make nice little 10 minute shorts. There's too much narrative padding and reiteration, which seems to be inserted by populist programmers these days to remind people of the subject of the documentary in hand, just in case they forget half way through.

Edward: the licence fee's only payable if you watch broadcast TV.
