Battle 360 - USS Enterprise

Did anyone see the new Battle 360 series (1st in a 2 part series) tonight about the USS Enterprise, an aircraft carrier in the south pacific?

Little known fact: Enterprise Rent-a-Car takes its name from the aircraft carrier. The company's founder, Jack Taylor, was a fighter pilot aboard the ship.

I actually stumbled onto it just as it was starting and sat down to watch the entire show, (or the first part shown tonight). Some of the information I knew, but it was still very interesting.

My Papa was a radar man in Halsey's group on a destroyer, USS Conner. They got hit by one of our own battleships :eusa_doh: Lot of interesting stories about serving with that fleet, and we found his official log book, too, so we know they weren't just stories.

I know! I think we both sat there with dropped jaws for the next 5 minutes. Just one example of the brave and amazing things our soldiers were capable of during WWII.

I think History Channel gets a little cheesy sometimes and sensationalizes things, but this was well done.

Except for the commentary by that annoying Marine guy

I caught the show after it had started, I loved it and also love to watch Dogfights!

They're running the Enterprise episode again followed by the new Mon on Midway. At 11PM is listed something that looks excellent also- a new Dogfights! Trouble is different cable and satellite providers run shows in all sorts of different slots time shifting them. Check you provider's schedule.

These programs get re-run a lot too so you'll never know when you might come across one.
