Baron Kurtz's eBay auctions.

I've decided to take advantage of a free listing promotion on eBay to sell some great vintage gear. Stuff will be appearing over the next few days until the 1st of June, when the promotion ends. Some stuff has appeared here before, some not. Check them out; some really nice stuff up for auction.

[edit] OK per the new rule (seems a bit silly to me), here're links to the individual auctions not my list. shakeshead

I couldn't be bothered going through the rigmarole of setting my price, wasting time for the bidder to find out i'm not some dumb hick who's found something in their barn that they'll let go for a couple hundred bucks. Added to that what jp says about making a decision and sticking with it. And the fact that though I know vaguely who these people are, I have no idea whether they'll try to fleece me, with no protection outside the eBay system. For all its failings, I like the security of the eBay system.

If high end vintage dealers and clothing designers are interested (Yes, I've had yet another offer … 3 and counting), it should go plenty high enough at bidding. If not, well the first bid is several times what I paid for it so i'm not losing out … and there's been a bid so i'm well into profit :eusa_clap.

It is nice. And very weird. I have never seen that label before. I emailed Rin Tanaka about it, but never heard anything back from him. And Ohio? HD is, and always has been, based in Milwaukee. Maybe this was sold from a store owned by HD? I know they've made apparel for a long time. Odd, and I hope, collectable. Maybe not. Again, I picked it up for peanuts so …

From a quick google search it looks like Harley Davidson Sporting Goods in Columbus Ohio is a maker and seller of team apparel such as letter jackets, letter sweaters, team uniforms, etc. for high schools and colleges. The label has a football and a baseball player. They were a supplier to Ohio State University in the 1950's which is located in Columbus.

Your sweater looks like team sweater with 56 being a common number for a football (American) player.

Also, having the auctions listed individually allows folk to see the price the item ended up going for after the auction is over.

Well, those did quite well (the duster I found in a warehouse clearance and didn't pay anything for, so at the very surprising heavy end price it's all good :D ).

Therefore i'll be listing a couple of others tonight or tomorrow. Many thanks to anyone who's bid on my stuff. I have some stuff getting ready to list that is residing in Iowa at the moment with my associate, so there will be stuff upcoming for those Americans among you. Including a lovely, and relatively large, early 50s summer cotton suit. Watch this space.

p.s. If you remember who you are (I don't but probably will if you mention it to me) could the person who offered to buy my peach pink Portis please get in touch; I've decided to sell it.
