Nice looking boots, but...

Where are they from Manton please? and how much are they retailing for?

And finally, have you pulled the trigger on buying a pair? (if or when you do, photos please!! thanks :eusa_clap ).

They are Edward Green, the Shannon model. And those are indeed mine; ordered in January, just arrived.

I don't know what the UK price is. Over here they were in the low four figures. This boot is, I am told, never stocked; it's a special order only, and that raises the cost a bit.

Top laced.

That is the most stunning pair of dress boots I've seen. My compliments to your taste level. Will you wear them with a tropical weight suit? Or keep them with a lofty fabric?

Probably not, though I am tempted to get a pair in Edwardian, a light brown/dark tan with some orange underdones. Those would look nice with summer suits.

but have you yet formed an opinion re the quality compared to other shoes in terms of comfort, materials etc.?
It is, in every respect, an Edward Green oxford -- same quality, same make, same fit, same comfort. It's just got that high upper.

English Grensons (Huntingdon model)

Love your boots Manton, very stylish. I was in their store in Jermyn Street about a fortnight ago, but currently their prices are just too rich for my pocket. Shame.

Got these (see pics below) a number of months ago and love them. Plus a great price for this quality of English boot (£130 UK in the online sale, just happened to have my size).
They are 'not as dressy' or as 'classy' as yours Manton, and possibly have more of a 'working man's' feel to them, as they are built to walk the miles and stand up to a fair amount of abuse. Also the sole is a stitched rubber rather than leather. But the pebbled leather is lovely, as is the glove leather lining. Plus I like the speed lacing at the tops.

I call them my Sullivans' after Mike Sullivan, the character played by Tom Hanks in the film, "Road to Perdition."

Nice boots Marc...

Loved them as soon as I saw them. But I just knew in my gut that they would be well out of my price range. I was correct.

But the modern Grensons will serve me well and have been sported with my dark gray DB suit.
