Keep seeing all the bad weather with snow and ice in states like Illinois and such and also in China. Wondering if everyone is ok from the FL. [huh]
Sure hope so and my prayers are with you all. Over 200,000 houses have collapsed in China they are saying on the news.

right up the road from me (less than 10 minutes away) got a fresh dump of 2 feet of snow the other day. we have around a foot or so on the ground here and its been storming on and off for about a week. got up the other morning to drive across the state, at 8am it was -15 degrees outside. its been cold enough when the wind kicks up it whites out. loads of fun here. one of the places in town had their roof collapse because of the weight of the snow.

Wow, it is going to be in the 70s here today and sunshine. I cannot see how the northern folks deal with so much snow. I would be like a bear and hibernate. Though snow is pretty I am sure it gets old real fast. Stay safe.

I deal with the weather because it means I don't have to deal with hurricanes, mudslides, wildfires, giant insects and the assorted other problems associated with year-round warmth. ;) That and living by the lake in the summertime makes it all worthwhile.

Thanks for your concern. Yesterday was particularly brutal here. I, for one, spun out, went through a snowbank and hit a guardrail. The car and I are both fine, thankfully. It's much nicer today.

Thanks, hubby spun out in Ohio en route from Texas to Rochester and the rear of his car, bought a week ago, hit a tree. The car is totaled. They didn't have ice on the roads over in Iraq so he wasn't used to it. He's all right after a short stay in Emergency in Ohio, then he left the driving to Greyhound! The bus driver drove very cautiously and hubby got home around 1 AM this morning.
Back at home, another very old tall tree blew over, didn't hit anything though.
I'm glad to hear you're fine, Dave.

Oh, goodness! I'm so sorry to hear of your car "adventures". When I lived in Chicago I once fishtailed in the snow exiting Lake Shore Drive onto Michigan Avenue and a *&$#@# speeding cabbie hit me. Pretty scary and that wasn't even a bad accident. Stay safe everyone!

* This from the girl who now lives in LA and just commented to hubby, "It's so cold out!" It's 53 degrees. I've blocked out those Chicago winters!

Whoa. I know just what you mean!

...It's when those vicious winds come shrieking through the palm trees at three miles an hour and the mercury plummets into the 50's that makes me wanna grab my parka and thermies! :D
