Avirex A2 identification.

Hello,

I was wondering if anyone could help me with this Avirex A2. Just curious to know the date and type of leather most likely used? Is it early 1980s?

It's made in USA and has a Talon zipper. 2 piece back.

Just a guess, but it looks like an early 1980's jacket and the leather looks like cowhide. Later jackets had much better knits and (usually) a one-piece back as they tried to be more authentic in their line of A-2's. Also, later jackets were clearly labeled "genuine goatskin" or "genuine horsehide" with a separate tag inside (along the body seam) so this might be a cowhide jacket.
