The hanger which has been claimed to be used by Charles Lindbergh at Twin Pine airfield. Hopewell, NJ was demolished in August 2015 when bids to turn it into an aviation museum having failed. It used to be one of the old-school grass airfields in the US; it's now playing fields.
Lindbergh was a resident of Hopewell--his baby was kidnapped from his nearby residence--and while the discussion of the future of Twin Pines was underway it was claimed that he frequently used this hanger to store his Curtiss. (See NJ.com article below.)
I live nearby, and after talking with the demolition crews was able to salvage some pieces of the wood planks of the original part of the hanger; these are small, and so suitable for framing or mounting. I passed many of these along back in August 2015, but have recently unearthed the few remaining pieces-which I'm offering here.
There's a couple of larger pieces, some mid-size pieces, and some small pieces--show with a dime in the picture for scale. As before, I'm just looking to pass these along to people who'd be interested, for pretty much the cost of shipping. So, he largest piece is $25, the second largest is $20, a middle sized piece is $14, and a small piece is $8! (Shipped within the US). If you'd like more than one piece I could probably send you two or three pieces for $25 (with the largest piece) or $20 (with the second largest or below) with the additional pieces small or medium sized. There's also an original hanger nail--yours for $10!
Information about the hanger is available here:
