we dont seem to have seasons anymore! (north England)
as a child we had horrible cold winters but could look forward to nice springs and hot summers-not anymore.
this is the first real summer,(came around late july) although a short one we've had in four or five years. the last winter went one for about 18 months.

18 months!? :faint: I had heard that you were getting a 100 year cold cycle there but 18 months is more than I thought that meant.

Now it appears the situation has changed...
Mae the unsure ghost. :D
BTW I'm heading to TX next month for a couple of days, I hope you are the only Texan unsure, or it's going to be disappointing.

What part are you headed to?

25 miles SW of College Station.
A dot on the map called Caldwell.
3,000 people, one Walmart (small) one grocery (small and over priced), 2 dealerships (Ford OR Chevy), and a liquor store that doesn't know what wine is. Thankfully Walmart and the grocery sell it, not great wines, which is why I bring my own. :D
My favorite activity each trip, is going to Sodolack's in College Station once each visit.
A medium sirloin is 32-36oz, so it's essentially 2 steaks stacked on each other.
Unless you want to get the dinner plate sized chicken fried steak. :eeek:

We've got a cat that's in the Autumn of her years. She was 19 last August. It's like living with an old lady, you have to clap your hands loudly to get her attention, she spends a lot of time sleeping. Although she is still well housetrained, she is reluctant to out when it's wet. For that and emergencies, we leave a litter box down. From experience, we have learned spread a large faux leatherette on the floor to place the litter box on. Sometimes her aim is not too accurate, and she does have a habit of spending ages scraping at the litter, only to hang her arse over the edge. Hence the leatherette. It makes for an easy wipe.

My wife is forever nagging me to wear my slippers around the house, today she was vindicated. The litter box is in my study, I walked in barefoot, could smell that the cat had been, didn't give much thought as to where. Trod on the leatherette, poop scoop in hand, to rake around in the cat box and felt something warm and squidgy between my toes.

My wife's stitches from her recent operation nearly burst with the intensity of her laughter.
FFS!

Picture of said steak, from the last trip.
I had already eaten a bit, so essentially there was another steak close to the same size, on top of the one you see.

It was $24 with tax, 2 sides, and tea. :D

Thanks for the picture GHT. :eusa_doh:

Getting the ingredients for a fall dish (around here) Chili.
Being low carb it will be a lot of meat, and some beans.
Just the opposite of what you usually make.
My wife said "see if you can find a low carb recipe for cornbread."
Oh it's out there, and a Unicorn will be the one guiding me to it. ;)

Experienced this many times in the days of my indoor cat. Sadly, he's no longer with us, but that's something I definitely don't miss. LOL!

Hope your wife is doing better since you nearly injured her. lol

Wow!

In our house we generally use period recipes, from Era cook books. 36 ounces of meat would serve our family of four for two meals with some left-overs.

Well, when I ordered it, the menu said "medium sirloin."
Uh okay, it WAS lunch and I didn't want the 16oz.
I forgot the chicken fried steak comes out as large as a dinner plate.
Should have made allowances for their scale. :D
I got 3 meals out of it. Lunch, breakfast, and dinner the next night.
