My grandma and now my Mom make Squash pie. Make like you would a pumpkin pie, but with squash and no nutmeg. I actually like that.

I'll second that.
I don't even allow the yankee candle pumpkin stuff in the house.
I do have a plug in and vent sticks called Autumn Leaves.
Smells kind of woodsy with leaves falling. Can't really explain it, but this is one of the few I latched on to.
But pumpkin...eww.

If you don't LOVE pumpkin pie, you should NEVER try pumpkin flavored beer. I don't like Pumpkin pie, but I LOVE BEER. I thought I might like Pumpkin beer. I didn't, not at all, not even a little bit. Mom makes Pecan pies or Pumpkin pies for Thanksgiving and Xmas.

Autumn is wonderful in New York! We had a fairly tolerable summer this year, onlyone week where it was 90 at midnight every night. But usually September finally brings pleasant, comfortable weather that's still sunny and warm, but with cool evenings for sleeping.
I'm expecting to join a group of friends the last Sunday of this month, or possibly the first Sunday of October, who are going to go to Rhinebeck, NY, about 90 miles up the Hudson River, to visit the Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome. I plan on taking a ride in their 1929 original barnstorming airplane, the New Standard 25, for a trip above the Hudson Valley, with views of the Catskill and Berkshire Mountains in all directions, just as they start to reach their peak levels of color for the fall.
We will all, of course, be wearing our best vintage togs. I'll try to post a few pics.

Heck, even if you DO love pumpkin pie you should skip the pumpkin beer. That was the worst $#&% I ever tasted.

We do pumpkins. That's what we do. The pie is most delicious.

And corn. That's never been a pie. But it's pretty good when it was picked today.

And apples. Our Apple-Fest will soon be coming. Those pies are pretty freakin' good too. The cider is "to die for".
